UX/UI Designer, Brand Strategist

Company
A startup company launched a media product two years ago. It is a freemium model that has a mobile-web experience and a mobile app for both iOS and Android.

Context
The company’s business strategy was to first build a user base by offering a free product and then evolve the feature set so they could monetize on a premium (paid) product

Analysis
The product has been well received and has a healthy user base of free users. They now need to design an experience that will allow users to subscribe and pay a monthly fee.
Problem Statement
They have no premium service and now they need that add a subscription that makes sense to their application. They brought me on board to create a subscription that will enhance the experience of the app without disturbing the free experience.
Objectives & Goals
-
Appeal to new and existing users while also fostering customer loyalty
-
Create the opportunity for new users to subscribe to the premium product upon registration in the signup flow.

I started the design process with a low fidelity wireframe. This is the way I iterate through many design options quickly. This Blueprint helped me as i made tweaks every opportunity I could to the design.

Low Fidelity Mockup
This Model provides options to subscribe even after by passing the login screen. With the opportunity when searching for a movie or show to watch there will be an option that leads you to the details of the subscription.

- Easy to navigate pages with many choices and the option add movies to watch later or favorite.

User Flow
This Flow represents the user's basic activity through the app and where their actions will lead them. Everything is quick and ends the up at the option to subscribe if they choose to.

Reflection
Based on interviews with participants and research, not only was the UI created and blended perfectly with the cite idea, but the subscription plan created was proficient in catching the attention of new and regular users.

What I Can Do Better
-More stylish and captivating LOGO
-Prototype animations shown in Case Study
-Collaboration
Learnings
Doing this project, I figured out the importance of look and feel when it comes to entertainment. Usually when people want some entertainment, they will usually already know what they are in the mood for. If the UI is confusing and all over the place users will have to waste time trying to figure what genre is offered.
